Global Iniative on uganda More info The initiative is a response to the continued plight and suffering of the people living in the three districts of Kitgum, Gulu and Pader. The conflict has left over 1.6 million or over 80% of the population to reside in internally displaced camps. namuwongo slum project More info Namuwongo slum area is populated by over 3000 people who are squatting on a government gazetted wetland. Namuwongo is located on the outskirts of the city of Kampala. The population is composed of mostly internally displaced persons. The International Volunteers and Internship Program More info GFIC has partnered with the Concordia Volunteer Abroad program to incorporate the Global citizenship internship program into the CVAP program. All intending Volunteers or Interns wishing to undertake working in Uganda will have to apply through the CVAP program. For more details on available positions and application procedures. Governance and Leadership Development Program Under this program, GFIC is engaged in a number of activities geared towards deepening democracy and good governance. The program seeks to develop accountable leadership values amongst the youth while interesting them in international affairs and developing their capacity to articulate African issues at the international stage. Under this program we are focused on training young people for future leadership responsibilities.
